All groups from primary education, also the 4 year olds, the special education and the first 2 years of secondary education are welcome with a reservation.

Most of the activities the children can do perfectly well on their own. Teachers, mothers and fathers should keep an eye on them because they are still so young. Toddlers can also have a great time in the Ontdekhoek though it takes a while to get started but once started they really begin to enjoy themselves and can concentrate for quite a while.

For teachers educated by KLOS, they will see lots of things in the Ontdekhoek which are recommended for this age group by the big education specialists.

Primary Education 9-10 years

For children in this age group the Ontdekhoek is perfect. The best thing in the Ontdekhoek for this age group is that they can do all the experiments by themselves. Hidden behind each subject, there are many possibilities for success. The Ontdekhoek can offer so much to this age group who still have such enormous curiosity and will to discover.

Primary Education 11-12 years

The students from this age group like to play just as much as the younger children, though after a while they create the need to improve the experiments. The Ontdekhoek offers them many subjects to explore these possibilities. The combination of thinking and doing experiments/subjects provided by the Ontdekhoek provides the perfect environment for this age group.

Secondary Educaton: 1st two years (13-14 years)

Although the students are a bit older, in the Ontdekhoek they too enjoy themselves.
The experiments in the Ontdekhoek teach technology techniques which are a good supplement to what they already learn in school.
Although in the past extra assignments were developed for this group, they appeared not to be sufficient. The students still prefer to do the many experiments freely and unhindered instead of theory, homework and reports.

Special Education (all ages)

Children with behavioral and learning difficulties or with a mental handicap are welcome in the Ontdekhoek. All children get the possibility to through play to learn at their own level and speed.
De Ontdekhoek has had students from all forms of this wide range of education and every time students and Ontdekhoek got on very well. Doing and thinking with their hands is what appeals to these students. Teachers are surprised every time by how long and extensively the children are captivated by the activities.

For Primary Education teachers

The offer and the presentation of the Ontdekhoek connect seamlessly with the curiosity and will to discover by young children.

In the Ontdekhoek one can see how children can and want to deal with technique. Children seem to integrate what they learnt in their games.

The subjects and experiments are chosen and developed so the children can learn through play. In addition, they get a first practical impression of the work in technical lines of business.

The Ontdekhoek is a workshop where illustrative education, feasible and payable can be for infants through to children in secondary education.
The concept of thinking, doing and improving, appeals to the children and is a good means to do get on track in discovering their unexpected capacities and talents.

In the current Dutch education system there is unfortunately no place created for children to learn how to discover. Our country is slow compared to other countries, for example England. In the United Kingdom, Science has been on the standard curriculum for the past 30 years. All school children must do 2 hours Science per week.

Schools in England can make use of many facilities and get support for developing Science education. Recently, even Science Learning Centers have been created especially for teachers to improve their Science education.

Much of this Science approach can be found in the Ontdekhoek.

The experiments offered are not only educational but also considered completely safe.

Besides the visit to the Ontdekhoek, the Ontdekhoek also offers the following:

2. You reserve half a day:
   From 9.30 am to 12.00 noon or 1.00 pm to 3.30 pm
3. Cancellations charges according to the conditions below
4. The maximum number is 80;
   this can be extended on the request by the school.

Discount in January, February & March

Half-day from 10.00 am to 12.00 noon
Half-day from 1.00 pm to 3.00 pm
Maximum number of students is 70

This price applies only to the above times and for schools.
Other institutions pay the normal admission fee.

Reservations

You must reserve a minimum of 6 weeks before your visit.

Cancellations

If you cancel in time no cost will be incurred.

If you cancel within 4 weeks before your visit there is a 50% of the total charged.

If you cancel within 2 weeks before your visit there is a 100% of the total charged.
